I. Interface

When you right click on a unit, the camera follows it, how do you make it so it stops following it?
You can exit "camera following troops" mode by pressing one of these keys: A S D W. The same buttons allow you to move your avatar/camera when in a "free flight" mode.

Which button do you zoom out with?
You can zoom in/out with the mouse wheel or by pressing PageUp and PageDown.

Is there a life bar of the enemy?
Yes, you can see it if you point the cursor and press Alt on the enemy.

II. Town

I enter a town with resources on my men (wood, stone, food). How can I barter them?
1) You and your troops should be IN the town, near the town hall.
2) There will appear the town icon "the gates" in the upper right.
3) When you press the town icon, or letter T, a message will come up: “The town offers exchange...” Right click on this message. Another message will come up: “Do you want to take up the quest?” Press yes. And the deal is sealed!

In the second mission my town had enough resources (gold, food, etc.) for the next level, but nothing happened. Why?
In the second mission human town is limited to the level 3.

III. Troops

How can I buy new troops?
1) You should be IN the town, near the town hall.
2) Press the town icon and chose the kinds of troops you need.
3) The number of troops under your command depends on your “leadership points”. (Level 2 troops take 2 leadership points, e.g.: Paladins.)

How can I upgrade my troops?
1) Your troops should be IN the town, near the town hall.
2) Your troops should be the same race as the town.
3) Your troops should reach elite level.
4) The town should be of a certain level for the upgrade you need.
5) Click on the troop icon, press “I” to enter the inventory of the troop and press “upgrade”.

According to my stats, I currently control 3/4 troops, but when I try to hire 1 troop of paladins, giving me 4/4, I'm told I don't have the skill to control that many troops. Why?
It happens because paladins take up 2 leadership points.

Can I have more troops than my leadership points allow?
You can buy 1st level troops in the town, which take up 1 leadership point each and upgrade them after fighting to the second level troops. For example: you can buy 3 swordsmen for 3 leadership points, and after a lot of fighting they'll reach elite level. Then take them to the town and upgrade them into paladins and your leadership will show 6/3 (2 for each paladin).
Also if you like using summoned creatures, you need to have some leadership points spare.

How to pass artifacts from one troop to another?
Open the troop inventory, select the artifact, drag it outside the inventory and drop it on the ground. Now you can pick it up with another troop.

What troops do I buy if I need to purify a graveyard in the tutorial?
Paladins are especially good against the undead. You can either buy them in the town, or upgrade your swordsmen to paladins (when the swordsmen become elite).

What are the special features of different kinds of troops?
Paladins are especially good against the undead. Knights have a very powerful first strike.

IV. Skills

I have trained magic up and got a few skills like "lair expert", but couldn’t find how to use it yet. Any help?

These skills have some effects, mostly information, but some skills boost your troops or your mana. “Lair expert” skill lets you see what’s in the little caves/huts and it allows you to cast magic on them. For more information on perks see: http://www.targem.ru/projects/1/index.pl?section=8&sub=10

What does the "Military" skill do?
The higher your military skill is, the more powerful your troops are. Military skill increases each of your troops' stats for about 5% per level of the skill.

Where can I learn more about the spells?
Here: http://www.targem.ru/projects/1/index.pl?section=8&sub=8

I don’t understand what mana is for. When I cast spells, I don’t seem to use any mana, only the spell icons get darker and then recharge after a while. Do I not need mana in the beginning or what?
Mana is an important stat of the character. It ebbs away when you fly too far from your troops. You can use not only the quick spells (which are rechargeable and don’t require mana), but also cast spells from the book. Press “B” or click on the spell book icon to open it, chose a spell you’ve already studied and right click on it. You will see, that each spell from the spell book takes a certain amount of mana.

It looks like I can only learn the chaos school of magic, no matter what specialty I chose. Why?
In fact, you can learn any of the three schools of magic, regardless of your specialty. There are three icons representing different schools of magic in the top left corner of your spell book. Click on the icon you need and you will see the spells of that school of magic.

V. Missions

How can I purify the graveyard in the 1st mission?
You can explore the land first and kill all enemies on the map. When your swordsmen reach elite level, go to the town and upgrade them into paladins. Killing the undead on the graveyard will be a piece of cake then!

I have to get to the orc den to get a club. I have 2 packs of best paladins+1pack of best headhunters and a Mage. How do I cross the bridge, without loosing everyone I have?
First, make sure, you killed every enemy at your side of the river. Then, when nearing the bridge, let only your fastest Units advance, so they lure the enemy-units, and then finish the enemy, when on the bridge. Keep your mage well protected and make sure, you save at least one soldier in any of your troops. So you may go back and restore your units, if you have too many losses.
The thing is, there is no re-spawn, so you can kill the enemy-units in small groups, instead of charging all at once.

In the mission where I must help goblins make a bomb I must make sure the town gets enough food and grows. I cannot figure out where to get the food. I killed the brigands in the settlement nearby, but there are still not enough resources for the town to grow. What should I do?
A food caravan goes to the goblin town every now and then. Make sure the caravan comes to the town safely. It starts from the north and goes past brigands’ camp to the goblins’ town.

In the mission where I need to protect the goblin town while they are making a bomb, there are so many undead, I cannot defeat them. I purified the graveyard, but they keep coming and there is no way to stop them. What can you suggest?
You can use some powerful spells like “hypnosis” and “firestorm” or “flash storm”. Some 5 level spells are so devastating, that you may fight solely with magic.

Part 1, chapter 6: the Emperor is always killed, no matter how hard I try. I need him to survive. Any ideas?
Split your troops into 2 parts (using CTRL + number). Leave the troops with the Emperor near the cave entrance. Take the rest of the troops north, to the magic node. When the undead attack you on the way, make sure you kill the leaches first. Then take all your troops to the energy node and let the Emperor stay there. As long as he is staying there, he is being healed. Meanwhile you can kill the rest of the enemies on the map and search for artifacts. Finally, take the Emperor over the bridge, to the Elf Keeper.
